Back to school already? 😱 Here's some extra encouragement for the kids!

As a new school year begins, we’re busy gathering supplies, packing backpacks, and preparing our children for the days ahead.

But in all the hustle, it’s easy to forget that the most important thing we can equip our kids with isn’t found on a supply list — it’s God’s Word hidden in their hearts.

Scripture memory gives our kids something far more valuable than pencils and notebooks:

  • A foundation of truth in a world filled with confusing messages
  • Comfort and strength when they face challenges or disappointments
  • Guidance for wise choices when temptations arise
  • Words of kindness and patience to draw from in sibling squabbles and friendships

In today's post, I love how our guest writer, Gina Poirier, shared a story of how one verse her family had memorized, Colossians 3:12, completely shifted a tense moment of sibling conflict into an opportunity for peace and growth.

Instead of yelling, she was able to point her kids back to God’s truth they already knew by heart.

What a powerful reminder that God’s Word really does equip our children to live out their faith every single day!

That’s why Gina put together a list of 20 Simple Bible Verses Kids Can Memorize along with practical, fun tips to make Scripture memory doable (and even enjoyable!) for your family.

This school year, let’s give our children more than supplies. Let’s give them the unshakable gift of God’s Word, a treasure they can carry with them into every classroom, every challenge, and every relationship.
