Two court cases just confirmed what we suspected. Now what?

Last week I told you about the California jury that ruled Meta and Google knowingly designed their platforms to be addictive and harmful to kids.

But here's what I didn't know when I sent that email: There were actually two major verdicts last week.

The day before the California ruling, a New Mexico jury ordered Meta to pay $375 million after finding that the company misled consumers and knowingly allowed children to be exposed to predators and sexually explicit content.

Two juries. Two days. Same conclusion: Social media companies are knowingly designing their platforms in a way that harms children.

So now what? These verdicts open the door for regulation, but meaningful change could take years.

In the meantime, it's our job as mamas to do what Big Tech won't: protect our kids and teach them how to navigate the online world wisely.

Today on the Equipping Godly Women podcast, we're talking with Chris McKenna, founder of Protect Young Eyes and author of The 5 Habits of a Tech-Ready Family.

Chris shares why every yes to technology requires ridiculously informed parenting, the five habits that create tech-wise families, and how to protect kids without becoming fearful or controlling.

In this conversation, we talk about:

  • How apps are designed to exploit teenage brain development
  • What to do when allll your kids' friends are on social media (and yours wants on too)
  • How to create offline spaces for kids to connect without being the "mean mom"
  • Why modeling your own tech use matters more than the rules you set
  • How to say yes to technology without saying yes to every single risk
  • Practical steps you can take today, even if you feel overwhelmed

Where to Listen:

If you're terrified of invisible online dangers or exhausted being the only parent monitoring everything, this episode gives you the practical roadmap you need.
